feelin cheated by a well known, respected book.......

opened an acct offshore 5 days ago and have given them action every day on horses and sports to the tune of about 2k..........made a bet w/ them today on race 3 at GP on a horse to win only (67.00 to win at even money) the ticket time stamp is 2:24:12 , DRF has the off time as 2:26, since the book requires all wagers to be placed 2 mins prior to post i assumed i got it in in time........actually had entered the bet about 15-20 secs earlier but the software takes a few seconds to register the wager..........anyway, i KNOW i shld be plying my horse wagers at PINNY for obvious reasons ,but had learned here that this particular book was one of the most reliable in the industry re: payouts, and as a small limit bettor, that is what my primary concern is............now, i didnt lose the bet, it was graded a push evn though the horse won, but when i called their c/s line i basically got told " too bad, ya missed by 12 seconds"

even though i have heard that the only major complaint regarding this book is thier lack of c/s, i feel this is a rather shitty way to treat a new cust. (who quite frankly, has a better option on where to wager his thorouhbreds) over what amounts to 70.00......if asnybody can tell me if this is considered par for the industry, or if maybe i juast got a bad c/s rep on the phone, i would app. it greatly ..........

Please dont take this the "wrong way"....BUT, if you are playing a horse at even $....lock-out times and poor cs are the LEAST of your concerns.

hear that dog, usually just pass on horses w/ no value , but he looked like a winner, and had to have a coupla bucks on him.....reason i was late gettin it in was i was hopin he'd float up a bit in price ........unfort , he moved from 8-5 to even late instead

This is always bantered on the board (value). I STILL say that when I see a horse that is chalk and I know that he'll pay $4 or $6 to win and there is ABSOLUTELY NO DOUBT in my mind that he will win - and does- then what is the issue?
I took $100 and turned it into $200 or $300. And there are guys here who actuallly laugh at this! That is because they spend all their time chasing 6-1 horses all night and trying to make them "fit" where they don't belong. I agree that "value" is important in money management but sometimes you just cannot ignore a "gift". Check my Sat Woodbine post - did it twice that night (2/2) and made good money.
The real issue here is your c/s situation. I had that happen to me last year where I layed a $40 tri and when it won I was told it was past post. I argued it and was told that there was a "glitch" in their software so they couldn't honour the wager. It was not pp on my end and by saying so they closed my acct lmfao
If you LOSE, they LOVE you and if you win, you are GONE!

exactly my point sds, its not the 70.00 i "lost" by hvin it posted 12 secs late, but the c/s issue that bothers me........i mean, i would think that a book would take the long term view and realize that the rather than losing a potential source of new revenue, because , lets face it, horsesplayers who win consistenly are few and far between,and for a lousy 70.00 , why not make a good faith gesture by realizing that a bet placed 1:48 before post instead of 2:01 is not an attempt to past post but rather a situation where the bet just didnt get stamped in time............seems rather shortsighgted in my view, and as of Monday, PINNACLE has one more new customer...........thankfully i wound up a 748.00 winner for the day and have moved on.......... on to a shop that actually gives something BACK to their plyrs............
